HOW TO WASH PADDED GARMENTS (COATS, DUVETS, QUILTS, ETC...)
• Wash padded garments without other clothes.
• Choose a suitable program for delicate garments.
• Use a specific detergent for padded garments with volumising formula for feathers.
• Temperatures lower than 30°C and no more than 1200 tours/min (less is better).
THE WASHING CYCLE: WHAT PRODUCTS SHOULD WE USE?
When dealing with padded coats, duvets or quilts, knowing how to take care of feathers is always the best way to avoid wasting time and money: we cannot always go to a laundry and using non-specific products increases the risk of damaging garments… and consequently of having to buy new clothes!
HygienFresh laboratories have developed a detergent and a professional softener specifically designed for duvets and padded garments:
END OF THE WASHING CYCLE: WHAT SHOULD WE DO?
In this phase padded garments look totally different from how we are used to see them and the appearance that conquered us when we bought them seems completely vanished: in effect they appear without volume or softness. So coats, quilts and duvets are totally different from what we had put in the washing machine at the beginning.
DON’T WORRY! They’ll be restored to their form and appearance after drying, especially if you have followed the right tips!
HOW TO DRY PADDED GARMENTS
If you have a tumble dryer, you can use the washing machine whenever you want. Without the dryer it is better to wait for sunny days and a light breeze.
Using the dryer is the easiest way to dry padded coats, because thanks to the circular movement the feathers in the jacket don’t stick together.
Without a dryer you can use a large hanger with wide shoulders: close the zip and leave the padded coat in the open!
Thanks to the special formula that prevents feathers from sticking together, it won’t be necessary to keep an eye on garments and shake them from time to time!
TIP: never put padded coats on radiators and never use a hairdryer to accelerate the drying process!
